Neurodevelopmental Clinic

In addition to general practice, I offer a dedicated clinic focused on neurodevelopmental assessment across the lifespan. This service provides comprehensive evaluations for ADHD, autism, and other neurodevelopmental differences in children and adults. Mental health is carefully considered during the assessment process, as it often overlaps with neurodevelopmental conditions; however, the primary focus of the clinic is understanding an individual’s developmental profile.

The aim is to work collaboratively with individuals and families to provide clear answers, practical guidance, and meaningful support. Together we explore strengths, challenges, and individual needs, and develop strategies that can help at home, school, or in the workplace. By working alongside patients, families, and other professionals, the goal is to ensure individuals can better understand themselves and access the supports they need to thrive.

ADHD Assessment & Management in Queensland

Changes to Queensland prescribing regulations have expanded the role of General Practitioners in the assessment and management of ADHD across the lifespan.

In appropriate circumstances, GPs may participate in the assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing management of ADHD in both children and adults as part of primary care.

Some individuals, particularly those with more complex presentations, significant co-occurring mental health concerns, diagnostic uncertainty, or complex medication requirements, may still require involvement from a paediatrician, psychiatrist, or other specialist services.

Where appropriate, referrals and collaborative care arrangements will be discussed as part of the assessment and management process.
